About Us

We are the unofficial custodians of XOutput, dedicated to keeping legacy controllers alive on modern Windows systems.

Our Mission

XOutput-Guide.com was established with a singular goal: to prevent e-waste by software emulation. Thousands of perfectly good DirectInput controllers (from the PS2 era to generic USB pads) are discarded simply because modern games only support XInput. By maintaining the documentation and drivers for XOutput, we help gamers use the hardware they already own.

The XOutput Story

The Beginning (v1.0)

Created by csutorasa, the project started as a simple wrapper to bridge the gap between DirectInput and XInput, originally relying on the now-defunct SCPToolkit.

The ViGEm Era (v3.0)

A major rewrite introduced support for ViGEmBus, a kernel-level driver that drastically reduced input lag and improved stability on Windows 10.

The Legacy (Today)

In late 2024, the official repository was archived. This website now serves as the primary resource for users seeking safe downloads, troubleshooting guides, and Windows 11 compatibility fixes.
